- How do I join the Adventure Guides?

- How much does it cost to be in Adventure Guides?
There is a yearly enrollment fee for Adventure Guides (2010-2011 Fees):
Campanelli YMCA members: $26 per father/son pair; $13 for each additional son
Program only members: $52 per father/son pair; $26 for each additional son
In addition, some events have fees which can range between $5 and $150 per father/son pair plus additional fees for additional sons
- At what age can the children join Adventure Guides?
Kindergarden through 4th grade
- What happens if I miss a meeting or event?
There are no penalties for missing meetings or events. But each event you attend, both the father and son receive a patch for the event. Also, points are awarded for each event or meeting that you attend – 75 points for each event and 25 points for each Longhouse meeting that the father attends. At the end of the year, guides that have accumulated 500 points receive a Noble Explorer patch. Guides that have accumulated 750 points receive a Golden Explorer patch.
- Where can I buy the vest for patches?
The vests can be ordered from The PatchStore. We use the desert tan vests.
- What can I do when my son gets too old for Adventure Guides?
You and your son can continue in the Trailblazers program which is also sponsored by Campanelli YMCA and have outings geared toward older boys.
- I’m interested in this program but have a daughter. What can I do?
You can join the Adventure Princesses Northern Lights Expedition which is a similar program for fathers and daughters sponsored by Campanelli YMCA.
